Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty talk everyday

Troubled British rocker Pete Doherty has revealed that he speaks to Amy Winehouse everyday - claiming that he & Winehouse are helping each other to battle their drug addictions.

28-year-old Doherty claimed that Amy, 24, has been clean since husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sent to prison facing charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice.

The Babyshambles singer said yesterday: “I speak to Amy almost every day.

“She just wants her man back for Christmas. They are desperately in love.

“One good thing is that Blake has got clean since he has been in prison. It’s been quite an awakening.

“Amy stopped doing everything since he went in.

“She realises how much they have to lose. They are going to lose each other if it carries on. Love, music and melody is the way forward.”

Yesterday, troubled Pete was back in court for a review of his drug rehab. The 'Babyshambles' frontman has been told must serve a year's drug rehabilitation treatment after he was caught with a series of a Class A drugs and cannabis. He was also given a four months suspended jail sentence.

Doherty admitted taking heroin after previously claiming he was clean, But he said: “I attended all appointments and everything required to stay out of trouble.”

Pete, outside West London Magistrates Court, added: “It hasn’t been plain sailing.

“I am sad to say I had a drugs relapse. I was clean for 11 weeks before that.”

When asked how the hearing had gone, he said: “Let’s just say we are not dreaming of a white or brown Christmas.”
