Greg Norman sells mansion for $65m
Golf legend Greg Norman has just put his mansion up for sale - for a cool $65m.
The Great White Shark, who is now dating tennis champ Chris Evert, had been expected to give the stunning 7.4 acre Florida house to ex-wife Laura as part of their divorce settlement.
But it would seem he has not only kept the property - he looks set to make a massive profit, having purchased it for a mere $5m in 1991.
The estate made headlines during the golfer's bitter and long-running divorce after he allegedly changed the locks so that Laura could not gain access to it.
It is located in South Florida's ultra-exclusive Jupiter Island, a favourite with some of the world's wealthiest and most reclusive celebrities and businessmen.
Forbes magazine calls it "the most expensive post code in the world" and fellow golfing star Tiger Woods and singer Celine Dion have recently begun to build their own mega-mansions there.
Woods paid $44m for his 12-acre property nearby, a record price for the island.
But Norman, who is known for his business acumen, will make sure that figure is smashed if he gets the asking price for his own water-front estate.
The property sprawls around a four-bedroom main house that was built in 1902 and measures around 9,000sq ft, according to the Wall Street Journal.
It boasts a two-bedroom beachside guesthouse, a three-bedroom coach house, garage space for 17 cars, a 50-foot-pool and a 140-foot-long dock, the Journal reported.
The athletic Australian also had built a carriage house with a gym and a tennis court, as well as a grilling house.
The mansion is also known for being the place where then-president Bill Clinton injured his knee in a fall in 1997.
Following his split, Greg moved out of the then-family home last December and settled in the swanky Le Lac neighborhood of Boca Raton, Florida, in a GBP3.5 million mansion close to Evert's home.
Laura Norman picked up a $4 million home in Palm Beach, Florida.
Although with a net worth of over$500m Norman is hardly short of a penny, the money may go towards the massive payout his ex-wife is expected to get.
Their divorce proceedings, which lasted over a year, started smoothly but got bitter after it emerged he had started to date Evert.
At one stage the tennis star was almost dragged into the legal battle and earlier this year Norman threatened to sue Laura after she claimed he was trying to "starve" her out by cutting her credit cards.
The divorce is expected to be concluded next year, although Norman this week filed another lawsuit alleging Laura breached a confidentiality agreement by giving an interview.
