Daniel Craig struggled to cope with the fame of playing James Bond
Daniel Craig has revealed he struggled to cope with the fame of playing James Bond.
The 007 actor admitted he wasn't going to take on the role but eventually changed his mind.
He said: "I kind of walked away from it at first because I couldn't wrap my head around it and I didn't see myself doing it. "I'd never imagined it, i'd never envisaged myself playing it so I genuinely thought they were having a bit of a giggle when they asked.
"I knew that once I had made the decision to make it that we had to do something different and I wasn't going to get involved unless we did something like that."
Speaking on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross he said: "I can't go to the pub anymore really for very long. I can sort of get in there and get a couple of pints in and then run out.
"People tend to use their mobile phones on me a lot, they bring it round and take a quick picture. "It's quite disconcerting."
Craig is currently in rehearsals for next Bond film, which starts shooting in January.
It has been temporarily dubbed Bond 22 as its official title has not been released.
