Tom Cruise to star in Doctor Who??
'Top Gun' actor Tom Cruise is reportedly being lined-up to star in British Sci-Fi drama Doctor Who.
According to reports from Britain's Now Magazine, Doctor Who's producers want to get Hollywood A-listers on board to make the programme more appealing to American audiences.
Tom, Cruise, Madonna, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are just some of the big Hollywood names being considered for a role in the cult show.
"BBC producers know they can't pay these stars what they are used to, but what they can offer is an exciting role in a real cutting-edge telly show," an insider tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
"The big stars love that kind of kudos."
The BBC are are currently working on 3 Doctor Who specials to be shown in 2009. It's these episodes that Tom and the other stars are being approached to star in.
Doctor Who producers have already lined up 39-year-old singer Kylie Minogue for this year's Christmas special.
She'll play a waitress on the Titanic.

Tom Cruise as a little green
Tom Cruise as a little green man- typecasting.
Madonna- could be believable as a dalek (perfect voice) but too scrawny to push around the metal rig. Might die in there. Instead of providing the usual cinematic kiss of death.
Alright now- no more nasty jokes from the BBC, mkay? Put one of the Harry Potter kids in it or go find a real A-list if you insist on binging on Americans (who love Dr. Who ALREADY).
Actually, this should be
Actually, this should be filed under a steaming cow pat to hide the smell as that's the only good place for this story! :D
Well I know what I will not
Well I know what I will not be watching. If the Doctor Who producers want American audiences to watch their show perhaps they should pick someone besides Tom Cruise to guest star. Most think he's lost his mind to a cult. Hence his movies not doing too well of late.
The other potential guest stars sound intriguing though.
