Piers Morgan reckons he is bigger than The Beckhams

Tabloid editor turned TV star, Piers Morgan is under no illusions about his meteoric rise to stardom and reckons he is bigger than The Beckhams and even outshines Madonna. "I think David and Victoria are slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that I'm more famous than them in Hollywood," he told Closer magazine.

In terms of his star-rating, he says: "I think I'm above Jade Goody! I'd say I'm also above Jude Law and Madonna is fading and on the way out, whereas my star is on the ascendant. There was a day back in June where I was number one in the TV ratings both sides of the Atlantic, with Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent, so I'd say I'm bigger than Madonna too!" He also blast Heather Mills as "the most grasping, awful, horrific self-publiciser I've ever seen in my life." He adds: "She just needs to go away."
