Alicia Keys: Bono was speechless when I honoured him with an award
R&B sensation Alicia Keys told a US music show how she once silenced U2 rocker Bono.
The singer, 26, revealed to MTV's TRL, that Bono was speechless when she honoured him with an award at an annual ball Keys threw for her Keep A Child Alive charity.
Keys said: "We honoured him at my organisation's black ball for Keep A Child Alive. We did this show with Gwen Stefani and Sheryl Crow and he was blown away. I have to say that was the only time I have ever seen him speechless - because he likes to talk!"
The star also performed two songs from her new album, 'As I Am, which was released to rave reviews on 13 November.
Keys' new album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 US pop charts with an impressive 742,00 copies sold in its first week of release, setting a record for Keys' largest sales week of her career.
The singer has sold over 25 million records worldwide, and has won numerous awards, including nine Grammy Awards.
