Amy Winehouse's dad hits Pete Doherty

Amy Winehouse's dad, Mitch, has launched a scathing attack on troubled British rocker Pete Doherty - by hitting him!

According to reports, taxi driver Mitch is said to be so sick of bad influences in Amy's career - he took it out on Pete.

Reports from British newspaper The Sun claim that Mitch saw the Babyshambles frontman backstage at Amy's gig in Brixton, London, last week - and hit him with a guitar.

An onlooker said: “He told him to leave Amy alone, saying that he was the last person she needs at moment.

“Pete was smirking until Mitch turned and whacked him.”

Amy's family intend to help the troubled singer battle her demons over the festive period - by taking her away from London.

Earlier this week, troubled Amy, 24, canceled her entire UK tour - claiming she couldn't carry on without her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who's currently being held in London's Pentonville prison awaiting charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice & GBH - at the time, 'Rehab' star Amy said: “I can’t give it my all onstage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same.”
