December 4 2007

Kylie MinogueAustralian pop princess Kylie Minogue is set to headline this year's Brit Awards - only days after announcing the return of her European tour.

Kylie, 39, is to receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music prize at the London ceremony to be held on February 20th.

A source close to the '2 Hearts' singer said: "It was a pretty unanimous decision, Kylie is one of everyone's favorite artists and has repeatedly held her own in the charts in three decades.

"She has also provided inspiration to people outside music as one of the bravest and most personable people in pop."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that rock and roll couple Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne are to host this year's festivities - and will be the first man and woman team to front the annual awards bash since Frank Skinner and Zoe Ball in 2002, reports British newspaper The Sun.
