Peter Andre had a crush on Boy George

Peter Andre had a crush on Boy George as a child after mistaking the performer for a woman, he has revealed.

The Australian pop star admitted he even dreamed of marrying the Culture Club singer after watching him perform on Top of the Pops. Andre said: "Boy George was on Top of the Pops in 1983. It was the first time I saw him. I said 'she is hot.'

"My brother said yeah she's good looking but I said 'forget good looking, she's hot."

Andre said he was heartbroken when he discovered the truth about Boy George's gender.

"I didn't know for a while afterwards until someone told me. As a kid I was hurt because I really thought I was going to marry this woman," he said on ITV2's Katie and Peter: Unleashed.
