Will Smith defends Tom Cruise's religious beliefs
Will Smith defended pal Tom Cruise about his religious beliefs on US TV.
In an interview on a US entertainment show, Smith blasted critics who give Tom bad press for his following of Scientology.
"Tom is one of the greatest spirits that I've met. He dedicates himself to making the world better."
Smith, 39, also defended his friendship with the Jerry Maguire star. He said: "Just because our beliefs are different, does that mean we are not allowed to be friends? Does that mean I need to take out my bible and club him with it?"
Will added that he has time for all religions and admitted his religion was love. "Our twin towers came down because of ignorant religious fundamentalism. I am a student of world religions and my religion is love."
Will's latest movie, 'I Am Legend' is set to become the box office smash of the year. It's a blockbuster of epic proportions, where Smith plays the last human survivor in what is left of New York City after an unstoppable virus hits the Big Apple.
