David Beckham's food scraps are being sold on the Internet
FANS of David Beckham are reportedly cashing in on his recent visit to New Zealand by trying to sell his food scraps and dirty dishes on the Internet.
Among the bizarre items put up for sale on website Trade Me are a half eaten corn cob, a nearly empty bottle of Coca-Cola and a single French fry, which the seller said Becks had dropped while eating on a street in the capital.
The chewed corn cob and soft drink reportedly came from a chicken restaurant where the LA-based footballer ate last week.
The seller was also auctioning the plate and knife and fork she claimed he had used at the restaurant. But the items have so far proved a flop - with the French fry attracting an initial bid of just 37 pence, rising to $3.
Becks was in the New Zealand capital for three days last week with his LA Galaxy football team to play an exhibition match against local team Wellington Phoenix.
He left at the weekend to catch wife Victoria's first Spice Girls concert in Vancouver.
According to US reports, the flash superstar has also shelled out Pounds 250,000 on five diamond-encrusted bracelets to give each of the band members as a special reunion present.
"He knows I'm really nervous about him seeing me back on stage, so he bought us all these bracelets for good luck," says Posh.
"It's like the old days. David spent a lot of time around the girls when we first got together - it's as though he married all of us. He's the original Spice Boy."
