Halle Berry to be honoured at a US film festival
Actress Halle Berry is to be honoured at a US film festival.
The Oscar-winner is to receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Spring International Film Festival on January 5, it was reported today (Friday).
Berry, 41, is getting the award for her role in movie drama 'Things We Lost in the Fire', according to trade newspaper Variety.
"We're excited to honor Halle Berry for her impressive body of work and mesmerizing performance in this year's 'Things We Lost in the Fire, '" Earl Greenburg, the festival chairman said.
Others to be honoured at the Awards gala, to be hosted by Mary Hart, include 'Into the Wild' director Sean Penn, Daniel Day-Lewis, producer Jerry Weintraub and actors Marion Cotillard, Emile Hirsch and Nikki Blonsky.
Previous Desert Palm recipients include Charlize Theron, Laura Linney, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet.
Berry is five months' pregnant with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry's child.
