Pete Doherty punched in the face by angry drug dealer

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty was reportedly punched in the face whilst enjoying a drink in his local boozer - by a drug dealer who threatened: "You should get your gear from me."

According to Britain's Mirror newspaper, stunned drinkers saw the bulky 6ft 2in thug whack the 28-year-old Babyshambles frontman to the ground in the garden of the Sun Inn, Wiltshire.

One pub goer said: "It was horrible. Pete was really shaken up and upset."

Police said: "We are investigating." Pete's label Parlophone Records confirmed he was punched on Sunday by a stranger but denied there was an argument over drugs.
