Amy Winehouse: Karl Lagerfeld's new 'muse'

She's known for her beehive hairdo, her amazing voice & most of all, her highly publicized battle with alcohol, drugs & bulimia - someone to stay well away from, you might say? - unless you're in the fashion industry!

According to reports from British newspaper The Sun, top fashion designer Karl Lagerfield claims that the troubled 'Rehab' singer, who was nominated for SIX Grammy awards last week, is his new 'muse'.

Lagerfield, 74, has even compared Winehouse to the 60s French actress Brigitte Bardot.

Lagerfeld, who, like Amy, is also famous for a dramatic transformation of his body, when he lost 42 kg in 13 months, and has the likes of Kate Moss & Kylie Minogue on speed dial, says of Amy: “She’s a style icon."

And to prove his devotion, Karl’s new fashion line is based on the troubled star.

At his London show last week, women with beehived hair waltzed down the catwalk sporting Amy inspired clothing.

Karl added: “She [Amy] is a beautiful, gifted artist. And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot’s hairdo in the late Fifties and Sixties. And now Amy has made it her own style.

“So, when I saw her, I knew it was the right moment. Amy . . . she is the new Brigitte.”
