December 12 2007

Amy WinehouseTroubled British singer Amy Winehouse was turned away from visiting husband Blake Fielder-Civil in London's Pentonville prison - after she arrived too late.

According to reports, 'Rehab' singer Amy, 24, was refused entry by a prison warden when she appeared at a back entrance - outside of visiting hours, demanding to see Blake, who is currently on remand for GBH and perverting the course of justice.

A source said: "She was pleading with the prison officials to let her in because she's desperate to see him, but they were having none of it.

"They just told her if she wants to see him then she should turn up on time like all the other visitors."

Then, according to reports, Amy was later spotted at a north London supermarket stocking up on sweets and treats to comfort herself after failing to see Blake.

An onlooker said: "She looked like she was stocking up for a pretty massive comfort-eating session."
