Kiefer Sutherland swamped with fan mail
'24' star Kiefer Sutherland, who is currently serving a 48-day jail sentence in Glendale City Jail - was only allowed to bring two books for the duration of his stay - but thanks to his devoted fans, the incarcerated star has plenty of additional reading material.
"The guy's been getting a ton of fan mail," says Officer John Balian, spokesman for the Glendale City Jail. "Easily more than 100 letters a day."
40-year-old Sutherland - famous for his role as Jack Bauer in the smash hit TV thriller, is serving time for his second DUI conviction and for violating probation.
Kiefer will be spending his birthday, Christmas and New Year's behind bars.
Meanwhile, Balian has branded Kiefer a 'model prisoner': "He's not happy to be here," he said, "but you can tell from his demeanor that he's sorry and takes responsibility for what's he's done."
He also reiterated that Sutherland will do the full 48 days straight without early release.
"There's no way he's getting out early, unless a judge orders otherwise, which is highly unlikely," he says.
