Britney Spears has been voted the "worst dressed star" of 2007.

The mum-of-two - who has recently been spotted wearing a variety of wigs - deserved the dubious honour as a result of her "downward style spiral", American magazine Us Weekly said.

The magazine wrote: "Oops! She did it again. And again. And again.'

Spears, 26, is currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two infant sons.

Meanwhile, Spears could be banned from appealing for custody of her two children - after she failed to attend her court ordered deposition, claiming she was ill, a source said: "This is the fourth time Britney has skipped the deposition. Kaplan feels she should not be allowed to go into court and ask to restore custody if she won't sit for a deposition to determine if she really is a fit parent.

"He could even ask for her to pay penalties, including Kevin's legal fees. Britney could even be held in contempt of court, but he doesn't plan to go there."
