Leona Lewis used to dress up as a Scary Spice

Leona Lewis, the winner of last year's X Factor, has revealed she used to dress up and pretend to be Spice Girl Mel B when she was younger.

The 'Bleeding Love' star, 22, idolized the girls, who bought 'girl power' to the 90s - and even bought platform shoes to mimic her heroines.

"In school we used to pretend to be them," Leona said.

"I'd be Mel B, my friend would be Emma and so on. We'd all sit down and study the videos, co-ordinating the moves to what they were doing."

Wannabe was the first single Leona ever bought and she's desperate to see Posh, Geri, Baby and the two Mels perform on stage.

"I'd love to catch them live, but I think they've all sold out so only if I can get myself a ticket,' she tells Britain's Observer Music Monthly.

"I'd definitely be down the front having a little dance if I can get in."
