Pete Doherty to run next year's London Marathon
Troubled British rocker Pete Doherty is set to run next year's London Marathon, it has been revealed.
The Babyshambles star has taken to jogging in preparation for next year's 26-mile race - his training consists of running around Wiltshire with radio station boss Ralph Bernard, his former landlord.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Ralph knocked on Pete's door one day and they went for a run. Despite being completely out of shape, Pete enjoyed it and he's been out again and again."
The runs reportedly went so well, Ralph, 54, suggested that Pete try a marathon. Last night, a spokesperson for Doherty, 28, said: "There is some truth to this - you never know what could happen."
But a spokesman for Bernard's GCAP confirmed: "Ralph loves running marathons and probably persuaded Pete to try his luck."
The Babyshambles frontman is also doing press-ups & and meditating. A friend said: "He thinks that running is a great way to get back in shape - especially after piling on the pounds in rehab.
"He knows that people will be surprised by his efforts to be healthier but he really wants to turn over a new leaf."

that's pretty stunning news.
that's pretty stunning news. will be intersting to see if he can actually commit to it. I imagine the drugs and booze and smoking really frazzled his mind and body...
