Michael Bolton's choir voted off Clash of the Choirs

December 20 2007

Michael BoltonCrooner Michael Bolton hit a bum note when his choir was voted off a US music reality show.

The 54-year-old singer lost out in a public vote to country star Blake Shelton, and failed to walk away with winnings for his charity.

He politely applauded Shelton's music group as his fate was revealed and said he had thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Clash of the Choirs.

The country singer leaped in the air and hi-fived his choir members as he was told he had made it through to the show's finale.

On Clash of the Choirs, five celebrities formed their own music groups from their hometowns in the United States to raise money for charity.

The best choir, voted for by the public, will win the star $250,000 for charity of their choice.

Shelton is now facing competition from Nick Lachey and Patti LaBelle in tonight's (Thursday's) final.

Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland was voted off on Tuesday.
