Ashlee Simpson loved acting like a "sassy biatch"

Ashlee Simpson says she loved playing Roxie Hart in Chicago - because she got to act like a "sassy biatch".

The 23-year-old singer walked the boards in London to rave reviews last year, and loved every minute. "It was a lot of fun. That was a really cool role for me to play," she told US music show TRL.

"I was the youngest out there so I was working with incredible talent, so I really got to learn a lot - and be a sassy biatch.

"Those girls are catty in that show, but it's kind of fun because you get to strut your stuff."

Simpson revealed she hopes to do more acting - but only after she has finished promoting her new album Bittersweet World. "I love acting and it really is a stretch to do different roles like that," she said.

"In the future I would love to [do more acting]. Right now it's the record, but I'd love to come back to that."
