Amy Winehouse ordered to attend Norway court over drugs arrest

December 27 2007

Amy WinehouseTroubled British singer Amy Winehouse has been summoned to a Norwegian court following a drugs arrest back in October, it has been reported.

Now the 'Rehab' star, 24, has been told she must appear in a Bergen court on February 29, after she and husband Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested for possession of seven grammes of marijuana and subsequently fined $700 whilst on her European tour.

Bergen police lawyer Rudolf Christoffersen said: "The Gulating court sent us a letter dated December 18, 2007, stating that this case cannot be tried in absentia."

Winehouse - who is struggling to cope with husband Blake's incarceration, claims she was tricked into a confession at the time, but the police lawyer reportedly said he was 'very certain the three knew what they were signing'.

"They were interrogated by a police officer who speaks fluent English ... and they paid the fine on the spot," he said.

Meanwhile, husband Blake, 25, still remains locked up in London's Pentonville prison, accused of perverting the course of justice and grievous bodily harm.

Winehouse herself was arrested less than a fortnight ago in connection with the investigation into perverting the course of justice.
