Mel B allowed to take daughter Pheonix on tour

December 27 2007

Mel BSpice Girls star Mel B has reportedly won the right to bring her eldest daughter Phoenix Chi on tour with the group, after her ex-husband, Jimmy Gulzar tried to stop her.

Gulzar, 40, sought to stop the singer, known as 'Scary Spice', taking their 8-year-old daughter on the Spice Girls' reunion tour, claiming it would disrupt his visitation schedule.

After the issue was brought before a Los Angeles court, Judge Robert Schnider ruled that Brown is fully entitled to bring the child with her.

According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, 32-year-old Melanie was awarded full custody of Phoenix after her bitter divorce from Gulzar in 2000, while the dancer was granted visitation rights.

The couple met in 1998 on the Spiceworld Tour and married in September of that year, while Brown was pregnant with Phoenix.

Phoenix was born in February 1999, but her parents decided to split by the end of the year.
