Jake Gyllenhaal takes Reese Witherspoon's kids hiking

Jake Gyllenhaal took Reese Witherspoon's children hiking, it has been reported.

The Hollywood couple took turns holding hands with the actress' two children - Ava, eight, and four-year-old Deacon - as they walked around a Malibu park on December 30.

A source said:  "Reese's kids have really taken a shine to Jake. They were laughing and joking with him and Reese. At one point, Jake even carried Deacon on his shoulders as they hiked along a trail. They all looked very happy together."

This is not the first time that the 'Donnie Darko' star has shown his commitment to Reese and her two children.

The 27-year-old, accompanied the Oscar-winning actress and her children trick or treating last Halloween.

The couple waited on the sidewalk and flirted while Deacon and Ava - whose father is actor 'Flags of Our Fathers' star Ryan Phillippe - collected candy.

A source said: "Jake tapped Reese on the butt and then she hit him back - they began running round in a circle and were hitting each other! Then Jake picked Reese up off her feet and she screamed.
