LAPD deny there was a gun at Britney Spears' Beverly Hills mansion
The LAPD has denied that they swooped on Britney Spears' Beverly Hills mansion because there was a gun in the house.
A spokesperson for the LAPD said: "There was no gun involved - that's the first we've heard of this."
It had been reported that Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline made a call to the Police claiming the singer had a firearm and would shoot dead their two sons.
It is believed that Kevin Federline feared his ex would use a Beretta 92FS pistol he bought her as a birthday gift to murder Sean Preston, 2 and Jayden James, 1. That prompted Federline to make a desperate call to the cops who arrived with a specialist SWAT team in a dramatic three-hour siege on Thursday evening.
But the Los Angeles Police department has said that WASN'T the reason why the cops were called.
An LAPD rep said: "The police were called out to Britney Spears' residence to investigate custody issues over her children - not because there was a gun in the house."
Britney, 26, was thrust into the spotlight in spectacular fashion last week, after she was hospitalized on Thursday night.
The troubled singer was restrained and rushed to the Cedar's Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, with cops suspecting she was under the influence of drugs.
The LA Police Department were called after Britney locked herself in the bathroom with youngest son Jayden James and refused to hand him over to ex-hubby Kevin Federline.
On Friday the singer was stripped of her rights to visit her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are living with Federline.
The order will remain in place until another hearing when the custody battle continues on January 14th.

I do agree with you there about KFed he is just got to grow up and let Briteny get on with her life poor women has had nothing but trouble since she married him and well the paparazzi need to leave her a lone as well she just trying to make a life for her and her children. All she gets is negative come back about how she should be a Mother.. Oh boo hoo. So Bratney gets “negative comeback about how she should be a mother”. So she should! There are women out there struggling every day to make ends meet, with none of Bratney’s wealth and privileges, and they are wonderful mothers. Frankly, I think Bratney is too self-absorbed to even care that she’s a lousy mother. Her wild old temper tantrum on Thursday did nothing for her children except terrify and traumatize them. And by the way, it was the court-ordered supervisor who called the police. The next day, the judge was right to bar this mother of all morons from seeing her kids. She seems far from broken up about it. Hours after her release from hospital, she bounced right back and took off with her her latest beau, all smiles, sipping cocktails at 10am. I’ve just read that they’re trying to sell the pictures for a seven figure sum. What a great way for Bratney to show her kids she cares about them. I’m really at a loss to understand all the hatred towards the children’s father. Kids need parental love at this tender age – it is not an “optional”. At least their father has the emotional maturity to do the right thing and provide a loving and stable home environment for them. Anyone who cared about the kids would be glad of that.
