Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey would rather be friends than lovers
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey insist they would rather be friends than lovers - as they pose on the cover of a US magazine.
The Hollywood couple - who are due to reunite in new action flick, Fool's Gold - say they constantly flirt. But they admit they would make a nightmare couple.
Hudson said: "We've never had any kind of relationship romantically and there's an element of that you can feel when we're working together."
McConaughey added: "We're always courting.
"It's a constant flirting courtship, which keeps it really alive.
"We never dated. But we can still be attracted.
"We work well and we fight well."
McConaughey, 38, added: "We're a perfect pain in each other's asses."
The pair interviewed one another for the February 2008 issue of women's magazine, Glamour. They previously appeared together on screen in comedy How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
Fool's Gold sees them play married treasure hunters whose eight-year search for fortune leaves them broke - but just as they divorce, they stumble upon a missing clue that could lead to riches. The film hits UK screens on April 18 and is released in the US on February 8.
Divorced mum-of-one Hudson, 28, told her co-star: "I've seen you brush your teeth in the morning. I know what your body odour smells like. I can smell you from five blocks away.
"I know all your different style kisses. And I know all your different style hugs.
"If I were walking down a street and some guy came up and slapped my ass, if it were you, I would know it was you."
"He replied: "If I were blindfolded and told to walk over and slap 10 asses, I would know which one was your ass."
