Anne Hathaway - Lancôme's new spokesmodel

Actress Anne Hathaway has signed up as Lancôme's spokesmodel and brand ambassador. As of this fall, The Devil Wears Prada and Brokeback Mountain star, 25, will front Lancôme's as-yet unrevealed new fragrance in print and, most likely, TV ads.

"Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity," Lancôme International president Odile Roujol told the National Enquirer. "We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance, to be launched throughout the world in September 2008."

Previous Lancôme spokesmodels include Carol Alt in 1978 - who, at the age 18, became the youngest model to be the face of the cosmetics company. Nancy Dutiel also modeled for Lancôme during this period.

In 1982, Isabella Rossellini was Lancôme's exclusive international spokesmodel for 14 years. Juliette Binoche, Uma Thurman, Mena Suvari, Ines Sastre, Shalom Harlow, Drew Barrymore and Marie Gillain have also been spokesmodels for Lancôme. In 2005 Lancome unveiled Daria Werbowy as one of their new spokesmodels, and in 2006 Raica Oliveira.

In early 2007, Clive Owen became the first spokesman for Lancôme's Men's skincare range and the new fragrance Hypnôse Homme.

On June 1 2007, actress Kate Winslet was unveiled as the latest spokesmodel for Lancôme. Her first assignment will be the relaunch of the classic Lancôme fragrance Trésor (formerly promoted by Inès Sastre) in late 2007.
