Britney Spears is "too crazy to be blamed for wearing fur" - PETA
Animal rights' campaigners PETA is cutting Britney Spears a break - saying the superstar is too crazy to be blamed for wearing fur.
The campaigning group says Spears was front-runner to come in at number one in its annual Worst-Dressed Celebrity poll for "sloppily flaunting fur".
But PETA has now removed her from the poll - insisting she might not be responsible for her actions. "People with l'il kids shouldn't dress like L'il Kim," says PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews.
"But at this point, Britney needs a break-from everybody.
"Maybe when her head is clear, she'll have a change of heart about wearing fur. "If not, we'll be back biting at her heels."
PETA is encouraging folks who had voted for Spears as the worst-dressed celebrity to comment on its blog about the decision to remove her from the poll.
With Spears out of the running, supermodel Kate Moss is now in the lead as voting continues.
Mathews insisted: "Nothing completes the transition from supermodel to super tramp like a fur coat."
The other contenders include Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth, Kobe Bryant, Kid Rock, Mary J. Blige, Eva Longoria, the Olsen twins, and Vanessa Williams.
