Eminem rushed to hospital over Christmas with "serious heart condition"

Hip-hop star Eminem was rushed to hospital over Christmas suffering from a serious heart condition, it has been claimed.

The rap mogul was taken to a Detroit hospital during the festive period with the mystery condition, according to TMZ.com.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, was also struck down by 'severe pneumonia' the website claims.

Insiders also say that Slim Shady's weight has recently ballooned to more than 200lbs.

The rapper is now recovering from his illness at his Michigan mansion.

"Over the holidays, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, was under doctor's care at a Detroit-area hospital for complications due to pneumonia," a representative for Eminem said. "He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home."
