Nicole Kidman IS pregnant, confirms rep

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has confirmed she is pregnant.

The "thrilled" Australian actress and her singer husband Keith Urban announced their happy news in a statement issued through her rep.

The statement, issued to US TV show Extra, said: "Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby. "The couple are thrilled."

The announcement came just a week after Nicole's representatives tried to shoot down pregnancy rumours, describing them as "gossip"

Nicole has reportedly dropped plans to shoot a major new film in Germany to protect the health of her unborn child after suffering miscarriages in the past.

She was scheduled to start shooting World War II drama 'The Reader' this month but is said not to want to take any risks.

Nicole has two adopted children - Connor, 12, and Isabella, 14 - with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

The baby will be her first child with Australian country music star Urban.
