John Mayer splits from girlfriend

John Mayer has reportedly split from his short-term girlfriend Minka Kelly.

The 30-year-old singer and the 27-year-old Friday Night Lights actress split over a month ago, but are "still friends," sources have told People.com.

Despite the couple's split, they've remained close, reports People - with Kelly showing support for the singer at his December concert in L.A. and accompaning him to the after-party at Parc where they got cozy in a booth together. The two were also spotted days later having breakfast in L.A. and also drinks in West Hollywood's Sunset Marquis Hotel.

According to a pal of Kelly's, "Minka told a couple friends that she and John had broken up but she really didn't want to tell anyone."

The couple hooked up earlier this fall, after being spotted dining together several times in Austin, Texas, in early October and again later that month in California. They also reportedly met up with Chris Ivery and Ellen Pompeo at a Knicks game in New York in November.

A rep for Mayer had no comment. Kelly's rep couldn't be reached for comment.

John Mayer has previously dated Jessica Simpson, they broke up and reunited numerous times before finally calling it quits for good.
