8-year-old boy arrested after flashing handgun at school

An eight-year-old boy has been arrested after flashing a handgun at school.

The schoolboy took the .380 semi-automatic weapon into class, at Orlando, Florida, but was apprehended by teachers and police alerted.

According to US reports, he got out the deadly shooter at break-time to show a group of friends.

The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, now faces a charge of possessing a gun on school grounds.

Police say he claims a friend urged him to carry out the stunt.
