Joel Madden speaks of baby joy

Nicole Richie and Joel MaddenRocker Joel Madden has spoken of his joy at Nicole Richie giving birth to his baby - gushing: "We are very blessed."

Simple Life star Nicole, 26, and Good Charlotte frontman Madden, 28, welcomed 6-lb., 7-oz Harlow Winter Kate Madden on Friday.

"We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful and so good already," Madden said. "We are very happy."

Friends were already eager to see the newborn.

Lauren Conrad, The Hills' star who is good pals with Richie, said: "It's just amazing. I'm so excited.

"I want to see the baby! I bet it's beautiful."
