Zac Efron rushed to hospital to have appendix removed
Zac Efron has been rushed to an LA hospital after falling ill with appendicitis, it has been reported.
The High School Musical star was rushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital today (15 January) after suffering with appendix pains.
A rep for Efron said: "He had his appendix removed ad is recuperating."
Efron, 20 became a teen heartthrob after appearing in the Disney Channel movie High School Musical as Troy Bolton.
He moved into movies in 2007 with an appearance in the film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray.
Efron is still dating High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.
Hudgens confirmed the pair were an item in an interview with a teen magazine in October 2007.
The pair are currently getting ready to film the third installment of the High School Musical series.
High School Musical was the first ever Disney Channel Original Movie to be broadcast on the BBC when it premiered on December 29, 2006.
Around 1 million people tuned into see its debut on British screens.
