Courtney CoxCourtney Cox has hit out at claims that the her marriage to David Arquette is in trouble - insisting they are happier than ever.

The former 'Friends' actress, 43, who married the 'Scream' actor in 1999, admits the couple have had their fair share of marital woes, but have worked hard to overcome them.

Courteney said: "It was a matter of learning to live together and understand each other better. We're both intense and passionate people and we're both in a very chaotic and creative business with a lot of pressure to deal with. We figured out that it was a total waste of time to get angry with each other over stupid little issues.

"Now we don't brood over things. We try to solve things in a very open and caring way rather than getting angry," she said. "Basically we realized that we love each other so much that it didn't make any sense to let ourselves and our marriage get bogged down with nonsense. Now we just look at the bigger picture and things are much smoother."

Despite their happy relationship, the actress - who played the neurotic Monica Gellar in the hit US TV sitcom - said she could never work with David again because they each need their own "space".

She explained: "It just wouldn't be a healthy thing for us to spend 24 hours a day together. We love each other very much, but we also need to spend time on our own.

"A couple needs to have their own sense of space, especially in a business as incestuous as ours."

Cox and Arquette met on the set of the horror movie Scream - where Courtney played Gayle Weathers, and David, Dewey Riley. They also appeared together in a Coke advertisement on TV in 2003.
