Kiefer SutherlandJailbird star Kiefer Sutherland has been praised as a model inmate.

The locked-up '24' actor was reportedly on his best behavior during his 48-days behind bars on a drink-driving charge.

Sutherland, who is due for release on Monday, spent more than a month on laundry duty, cleaning sheets and blankets, according to U.S reports.

Sutherland, 41, was jailed after pleading no contest in October 2007 to drink driving in Los Angeles.

The star was given a 30-day jail sentence, as well as a further 18-days for violating his probation from a 2004 drink-driving arrest. "He was very humble, never complained. He didn't give us any problems at all," policeman John Balian said.
