Tracey Edmonds refused to sign a prenuptial agreement

Eddie Murphy and Tracey EdmondsEddie Murphy's relationship with Tracey Edmonds broke down when she reportedly refused to sign a prenuptial agreement.

The Hollywood funnyman tied the knot with Edmonds in a New Year's Day 'spiritual' wedding ceremony on a South Pacific paradise island.

But the couple never married legally and split just two weeks after their tropical nuptials on the private island near Bora Bora.

They had been planning a legally binding ceremony upon their return to America but dramatically scrapped the plans, saying they had 'decided to remain friends.'

Now pals of insiders are saying that the couple's relationship faltered over finances. "When it came down to the legal marriage, Tracey wouldn't sign a prenup," a pal of Edmonds told the New York Post.

Murphy, 46, got engaged to Tracey, 40, in July.

He has five children from his previous marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005.

He also has a baby daughter with Spice Girl Mel B, but refused to acknowledge he was the father until it was proved by paternity tests.

Tracey has two sons from her 12-year marriage to R&B singer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds.

Good girl Tracey! Obviously

Good girl Tracey! Obviously he didn't know what he had. There's someone far better down the road.

Yeah are right !! In this

Yeah are right !! In this day and age of multiple marriages/divorce and where people walk away from problems rather than try to solve, i think Eddy was right to want to protect himself.

But anyways I guess Tracey is an "eternal prize " that someone else will be happy have. She should just keep telling herself that.

Good boy Eddie! Obviously

Good boy Eddie! Obviously she only wanted to take half your earnings somewhere down the road. There's definitely someone better in your future that will love you for you and not your money.
