Sarah Jessica Parker "thrilled" for Chris Noth

Sarah Jessica Parker says she's "thrilled" for her Sex and The City co-star Chris Noth after he became a father for the first time this weekend.

Noth's longterm longtime girlfriend, Tara Wilson, gave birth to son Orion Christopher Noth on Friday Jan. 18. And his on-screen flame, Sarah Jessica Parker, was quick to congratulate the proud parents.

"I'm thrilled for him because I think, first of all, he's going to make a wonderful, wonderful father," she told Entertainment Tonight.

The 42-year-old actress – who was at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her new romantic comedy Smart People, costarring Dennis Quaid – added: "He found a lovely lady to have a child with. It's the perfect time for him and I think he's very ready."

Wilson and Noth, 53, met while she was working at his NYC bar, The Cutting Room. The proud parents are due to appear on the big screen together as well, in the indie drama Frame of Mind. Chris - famous for his role as 'Mr. Big' in HBO's SATC - plays a journalist in the film and Wilson has a supporting role in the movie, which was filmed in Carlstadt, N.J., last year.
