Tom Cruise's Scientology rant like "a call to war"
Tom Cruise's bizarre Scientology rant has been compared to to a call to war by Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels by German historian Guido Knopp.
Knopp, an expert on Second World War history, told Bild newspaper that Tom's bizarre video address delivered to Scientology members - which shot across the internet like wildfire last week - 'inevitably' recalled Goebbels.
The 'Top Gun' actor asks fellow members of the church: "Should we clean this place up?"
Guildo said that the film - which caused uproar at Scientology HQ, after it was leaked, was bound to remind Germans of Goebbels' notorious speech in Berlin on February 18 1943 when he asked the audience: "Do you want total war?".
The historian added: "It may be the case that Cruise's delivery style is not uncommon in certain religious movements in the US.
"But for Germans with an interest in history, that scene where he asks whether the Scientologists should clean up the world and everyone shouts 'yes' is inevitably reminiscent of Goebbels' notorious speech."
It is not the first time the 45-year-old Hollywood superstar has compared to the vile Nazi.
His portrayal of resistance hero Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, an aristocrat who led a failed plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944, in his movie Valkyrie caused unhappiness in Germany.
During filming, the chief spokesman of the country's Protestant Church said: "Cruise has become the Goebbels of Scientology.
"This film will have the same propaganda advantages for Scientology as the 1936 Olympics had for the Nazis."
Scientology is often described in Germany as a sect that exploits its members financially.
In December, regional ministers agreed to investigate the possibility of banning it.

To those of you who
To those of you who sincerely believe that scientology is being treated unfairly by everyone right now, do you think ALL of the critics have just suddenly "gone crazy with evil thetans" or something? ...or is it possible that there really is something unsavory going on with scientology that is seriously concerning people?
The world needs Andrew
The world needs Andrew Morton! There are outhouses to be scrubbed, drunks to be sponged down, and ponds that need their scum slurped off!
And when he's done, he can use the malodorous goop he's saved to write his next book.
Freedom.
Freedom.
I have never seen in all my
I have never seen in all my life so many attacks, bullying and lack of respect towards a human being due to his religious beliefs. Where is the famous "freedom of thought" from the Constitution? Or the "freedom of thought" from the Human Rights? It's so low... if that's not pure bigotry you tell what it is... Why don't they post what Christians or Jewish people say in their meetings and mock it too?
Mr. Knopp's knee-jerk
Mr. Knopp's knee-jerk evaluation of Mr. Cruise is so psychiatric; so "reminiscent" of the psychiatric evaluations so beloved by the closet Nazis in Germany still dreaming of what could have been, while the broad productive population of Germany dozes unaware of their Nietzscheian dream.
Yes, these relics of Nazism dream of the days when evaluations of one’s fitness was swift and deadly. Today it is no different for these evil folk: swift, maniacal evaluations are done with skimpy or no information (squirming school children diagnosed "developmentally handicapped" over the phone, thank you. Just like "useless bread gobblers' under the “Mental Hygiene” programs were judged unfit by German psychiatrists and given a one-way ticket to psychiatric heaven.
By the way, no empirical evidence was ever offered for the "useless bread gobbler" diagnosis. Just like today, these psychiatric folks are happy to be ever at the ready to act the self-righteous behind a mask of deceit as in their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. There, about 375 “mental diseases,” all with made-up names and for which not a shred of empirical evidence exists, but for which a plethora of potent and dangerous drugs are readily prescribed.
Mr. Knopp presents himself as an academic after the intense research of viewing a video clip of Mr. Cruise accepting an award for his good deeds at a private awards ceremony in honor of his contributions to his Church. Mr. Knopp, with that paucity of information, makes astonishing statements (his own propaganda).
Please Mr. Knopp, Mr. Cruise is devoted to a legal, bona-fide, non-profit religion (recognized in law-abiding countries) that eschews the harming of the spirit by those who profit so un-Hippocratically by the mass marketing of narcotics as pharmaceuticals with deleterious effects upon the spirit.
The psychiatric/Big Pharma industry resides in your country, Mr. Knopp. Indeed modern psychiatry was born in Leipzig, and it’s the very same "profession" that willingly helped solve "The Jewish Problem" through torture, medical experimentation and attempted extermination.
Now you are talking true Nazi, Mr. Knopp. The extent of psychiatry’s collusion with Big Pharma is well known. Please turn the bright light of your "academic" prowess on the warrens of those would-be "Supermen" hell-bent on re-living a Third Reich for a thousand years in which they can deny Human Rights to anyone they wish to. All they need to is ask you for your diagnosis and publish it with a good dose of smearing and character assassination gratis.
For God's sake Mr. Knopp put your academic hat squarely on and get your facts straight. And your academic integrity could use some polishing up while you’re at it.
Often cult members become
Often cult members become extremists and sacrifice their time, money and life to pursuit a fake goal. TC is no less. It is not freedom of faith the issue. Everyone should have the right to speak about his ideas and opinions. But Scientology is not for free speech, nor for freedom of faith.
These are churches that Scientology successfully destroyed by illegal harassment over the years, because their teachings were close to Scientology teachings: Church For All Faiths, Church For Spiritual Advancement, Church For Unity, Church Of Cosmology, Church Of Many Mansions, Church Of New Life, Church Of Spiritual Arts, Church Of Spiritual Enlightenment, Church of New Civilization, Church Of Spiritual Freedom, Church Of The Awakening, Church Of Truth, ...
How they did it?
As an example let's read how they harassed former member Rev. David Mayo, founder of the Church of New Civilization: http://www.fzint.net/history/mayo960610.htm
It is enlightening on what's wrong (and dangerous) about Scientology.
