Jennifer Lopez scraps plans to have a Scientology 'silent birth'

January 24 2008

Jennifer LopezHollywood star Jennifer Lopez has scrapped plans to have a Scientology 'silent birth' according to reports.

Scientologists are forbidden from using painkillers during labor - or from even making an noise at all.

J-Lo reportedly had considered a Scientology birth because her father David and close friend and actress Leah Remini both belong to the wacky religion.

According to US magazine The Enquirer, the singer underwent special 'purification' lessons to prepare her for a silent birth.

A source told the tabloid: "Jennifer made the decision because she's high risk at her age.

"She wanted to leave it in the hands of her doctors whether she should receive painkillers and other drugs during delivery.

J-Lo and her husband Mark Anthony are both Catholic and are now opting for a more traditional birth.

The star has never confirmed she is expecting twins but at a recent baby shower at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, guests bought both blue and pink gifts sparking rumors she is due to have both a girl and a boy.

What a relief to read that

What a relief to read that JLo is scrapping the scientology silent birth baloney. It's not just about the drugs. It's about having to keep silent and not physically bond with the child until the 'trauma of child birth is past'. Take it from someone who was a member of this cult and had 2 silent births, both c-sections with mild local anaesthesia just before surgery ( and no pain killers before, during and after 12-24 hrs of hard labor). I missed out on holding and bonding with my children because I believed Hubbard was infallable in the facts dept. That's what happens when you join scientology. You get some interesting and sometimes helpful information but you are never allowed to question it against other facts. So when the soccial worker of the hospital was called in to speak to me, I was clueless that she was suspecting me of postpartum depression and indifference to my newborn because I thought having the baby in a quiet incubator in the nursery was better than having the baby in a cradle near me and my very hurting body during my 3 days stay. I didn't want the baby to hear my moans as I practiced moving 'round as instructed by the doctors. That was so Hubbardarian of me. I bet JLo's mom put a stop to the silent birth just on the no bonding issue alone.

Don't believe it. She is

Don't believe it. She is probably lying. They all lie to Suppressive People (SP's). Ban her and get it over with.
