Michelle Williams' heartbroken dad pays tribute to Heath Ledger
Michelle Williams' heartbroken dad has paid tribute to the late Australian actor Heath Ledger, quoting 19th century British poet Alfred Lord Tennyson in a heart-felt statement released today.
The Hollywood star - best known for his performance as a gay cowboy in the 2005 movie movie Brokeback mountain, was found dead, strewn in pills at his New York apartment on Tuesday, aged just 28.
Larry Williams - the father of Michelle Williams, who split from Ledger in September last year, has broken his silence over the star’s untimely passing.
He said: “I think Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made, that was Heath, what a beautiful flame he made and a great talent.
“My heart goes out to everyone in his family and my family.
“The saddest thing is his daughter who he just loved dearly.”
Michelle, 27, who shot to fame on the teen series Dawson's Creek, arrived back home in New York last night, travelling from a film set in Sweden with daughter Matilda, 2.
The distraught actress was being comforted by family and friends in the Brooklyn home she formerly shared with Heath.
She had been filming the movie Mammoth in Sweden when she she heard the tragic news.

Michelle Williams' father's
Michelle Williams' father's words are a lovely tribute, but it was actually the American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay (and not Tennyson) who wrote the poem of the candle burning at both ends.
"My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends -
It gives a lovely light."
--Edna St. Vincent Millay
I know Larry Williams and
I know Larry Williams and that is NOT Larry William's in that picture.
If whoever that "guy" in the picture is, is the person you interviewed to get this story, then you've been duped.
Please remove that picture and make sure you get your facts right.....there are plenty of pictures of Larry available on the net to not get something as simple as picture correct.....especially on a matter as sensitive as this. These are real people suffering a real loss, and they deserve more respect and dignity than this.
