Britney Spears worth a staggering $120 million to the US economy

Troubled Britney Spears might seem to be spiraling out of control but she is still worth a staggering $120 million (US DOLLARS) to the US economy, according to a new study.

The popwreck is a money-making machine for the likes of her record company, celebrity magazines, and nightclubs.

Internet search engines and of course ex-husband Kevin Federline are also coining it in, Portfolio magazine says.

The magazine calculates Britney has earned record company Jive Records more than $400 million from her 83 million albums sold.

One nightclub reportedly sold seats at a table next to Britney's for $50,000 at a recent party.

And perfume maker Elizabeth Arden has shifted nearly $100 million worth of Spears scents.

Britney has also topped the annual Yahoo! Search rankings for six of the past seven years.

The Toxic singer is worth an estimated $125 million and still earns about $737,000 a month according to figures submitted as part of her court battle with ex Kevin Federline.

Federline himself can command almost $30,000 for nightclub appearances thanks to his Britney connection, on top of the $35,000 a month he gets from his ex in spousal and child-support payments.
