Katie Holmes wants to take a road trip across America

Actress Katie Holmes has revealed she wants to take a road trip across America with her family.

The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress, 29, is determined to escape the pressures of fame and go on an "adventure" with her husband Tom Cruise and their young  daughter Suri.

She said: "I do love road trips. I think that could be really fun and a nice family adventure."

Katie - whose new film 'Mad Money' was released earlier this month, also revealed having Suri and Tom on the set of the film last year made the whole experience much more enjoyable.

She added to OK! magazine: "My trailer had a high chair and a teddy bear and it was just wonderful. I loved having my husband and daughter on the set. Tom was really excited for me to do this movie. Obviously I've never had that experience of having a young one with me at work and it just made it even better. It made it more fun and more fulfilling. I really enjoyed it."

Holmes also insists she is not worried about 21-month-old Suri reaching the 'terrible twos'.

She said: "I've never experienced a two-year-old who's terrible. I think she's amazing. I hope she's not thinking about me reaching my terrible thirties!"
