Jonny Lee Miller says people only know him as Angelina Jolie's ex

Jonny Lee Miller has joked that people only know him as Angelina Jolie's ex.

The English-born Trainspotting star would like to be famous for his acting. But instead he said everyone focuses on his personal life - in particular his former wife.

He joked: "My full name is Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie's ex-husband.

"It's a fact of life."

He added: "I'm engaged now [to Michele Hicks] - no wedding date, because life is too complicated now."

Miller, 35, married Jolie, 32, in 1996.  They met on the set of 1995 computer thriller, Hackers. They separated 12 months later and divorced in 1999.

She went on to marry actor Billy Bob Thornton in 2000. They divorced in 2003.

Miller is currently starring in new US TV drama, Eli Stone. He plays a lawyer who has hallucinations - including thinking George Michael is performing in his living room.

He also told US chat show The View about a recent race to the South Pole he took part in.

He said: "Two guys who rode across the Atlantic last year emailed me and asked if I'd like to race to the South Pole with them, and I said yes.

"It's not every day you get an email like that."
