Piers Morgan escapes the bullet in Celebrity Apprentice

February 1 2008

Piers MorganPiers Morgan was lucky to escape the bullet on a new episode of Celebrity Apprentice.

The former Daily Mirror editor came to blows with 'The Sopranos' star, Vincent Pastore, who walked off the show, sparing Morgan's blushes, who was facing the sack from the series for badly managing the boy's team.

Morgan was given the role of project manager for the boy's team by show creator Donald Trump.

This week, the teams had to create an ad campaign for the popular Croc shoes.

Morgan asked Pastore to act as a mole and spy on the girls' team.

The rest of Morgan's team, including Stephen Baldwin and Lennox Lewis were unhappy at cheating, as notes were passed back and forth by Pastore to Piers, as The Sopranos actor managed to trick his way into the girls' team.

A mutiny was created, an escalated with a fall out between Pastore and Morgan in front of an unimpressed Donald Trump.

Pastore was unhappy at being frozen out by the former newspaper man. While Morgan got personal and called The Sopranos man, "a very fat Italian."

The boys ended up losing the challenge to the girls and had to face Trump in the boardroom. Pastore declared that he had enough of the show and wanted to leave.

Trump reluctantly let Pastore leave, but warned Morgan he would have been fired if the actor hadn't given up his place.

Piers was brilliant! "Feel

Piers was brilliant! "Feel the love" ... I could just hear Homer Simpson saying those very words. I thought Piers was being darkly playful and the looks on the girls' faces was priceless... and when he kept popping in using their phrase... just too funny. I would rather have Piers running a project for me than anyone on the girls team. They're too silly.

I cannot imagine watching this series without Piers.

oh, I forgot... Wear them -

oh, I forgot... Wear them - share them was a much, MUCH better marketing phrase.

Stephen Baldwin is brillant!

Stephen Baldwin is brillant! He is the only one who cares about integrity. I hope he wins.

Piers makes the show... it

Piers makes the show... it would be so boring without him! He's honest and stands by his decisions, not like some of the other "men" on his team. Piers got in more trouble for calling Vinnie a very fat Italian, than Vinnie did for his death threats against Piers' life and telling him to watch his back... being called fat or a death threat... what do you think is worse? I'll tune out when Peirs goes... he's one of the few people on the show with a personality!!!

I agree. Piers might have

I agree. Piers might have played dirty, but that was his style and he had every right to argue for it against Vincent. It was unfortunate that none of the other members of Hydra tried to argue for or against anything for the sake of their team.

I am sickened by what Piers

I am sickened by what Piers did. I understand this is a game. However, when working for charity, integrity and a certain level of maturity and consideration needs to be maintained. What Piers did was childish and arrogant. I am proud of Baldwin and Trace for standing up for what they believe in. The world needs more people with uncompromising integrity.

I suspect that DT was happy

I suspect that DT was happy that someone other than himself took on a Vincent Pastore, who seems to believe if you are bigger and louder, you might be right.. VP's appearance as the in your face attitude, is pushy, non professional, and downright aggressive. Piers British attitude has stood The Brits in good stead for centuries and need not be belittled by the Americans he has to face in this mini market place. The other three guys sat back and did/said nothing. They are saps and chose to be led. Sometime you have to stand up and say something, but when you have signed on to make a team, you join or get out. VP did us all a favor.

Piers Morgan is a complex

Piers Morgan is a complex character - he ran an absolutely cutthroat 'red top' (= trashy) newspaper in the UK for years, is an arrogant, vicious, and very very astute guy. He can and will bear a grudge bitterly for years (notably with Ian Hislop, but there are many), and he is known for 'playing roughly'. Probably the smartest guy in the room, I can't say I'd want to spend too much time in his company myself, but I have a lot of respect for him.

And I suspect if he read my little review of him right here, he'd completely agree.
