Uma ThurmanUma Thurman is expected to face her alleged stalker in court next month, after a judge set a trial date for the case.

Jack Jordan, 36, faces charges of stalking and harassing the Kill Bill star, including one attempt to enter her trailer during a movie shoot in SoHo, Manhattan.

The actress is expected to be called to testify against the graduate student, who is a former psychiatric patient. He allegedly told the Oscar-nominated star he would kill himself if he saw her with another man.

A trial date was set for March 11 yesterday (tue).

Jordan's lawyer, George Vomvolakis, said his client was ready for trial. He said: "He was just a romantic, pursuing the woman he loves.

"There was no attempt to harass, annoy, threaten, scare - none of that."

Mr Jordan, who has been held on $11,421 bail since his arrest in October 2006, is accused of repeatedly contacting Ms Thurman, 37, and visiting her New York City home. Prosecutors charge he stalked the actress over a two-year period beginning in 2005.

If convicted, Mr Jordan faces up to one year in jail.

Prosecutor Christopher Hill told Judge Gregory Carro on Tuesday he planned to file a motion to reinstate a felony charge of attempted coercion in the misdemeanor case against Jordan, a count the judge previously dismissed.

Thurman's publicist did not return calls for comment.
