Amy Winehouse denied U.S. visa

Amy Winehouse RibenaAmy Winehouse won't be attending this year's Grammy Awards after all - she's just been denied her U.S. visa.

"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery," Amy's PR company, The Outside organization said in a statement obtained by the Associated Press.

The 24-year-old 'Back to Black' star checked into rehab last month after British tabloid The Sun released a video of her using what appeared to be a crack pipe.

The songstress has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, Album of the Year (BACK TO BLACK), Record of the Year (REHAB), Song of the Year (REHAB), Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album (BACK TO BLACK), and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (REHAB).

Of the nominations, Winehouse, 24, said last month: "I'm honored to have my music recognized through these nominations by people I respect and admire in the music industry."

As far as I know, British

As far as I know, British citizens (and other EU citizents) don't need to apply for a visa prior to departure. They get temporary visa when they enter the country.
