Simon CowellSimon Cowell looked daft as a brush cleaning up after a contestant on American Idol.

The acid-tongued American Idol judge tried his hand at a spot of housework when a hopeful left a mess of glitter and rose petals on the audition stage. embarrasses himself on American Idol

Cowell slammed Joshua Moreland's RnB audition as 'horribly corny.'

During the performance Moreland threw handfuls of glitter and rose petals at Paula Abdul.

When the contestant left the audition room, Cowell asked Abdul to sweep the floor.

Paula rolled her eyes at the chauvinistic remark, which was caught on camera. Realizing the cameras were still rolling he tried to make amends "Are we still on camera?" Cowell said as he took the brush from a stagehand.

"Let me do that for you. I don't allow women to do things like that."

Unfortunately the multi-millionaire clearly didn't have a clue how to use the tilting dustpan. "I don't think he has ever done this in his life," laughed Randy Jackson.

Abdul added: "He doesn't even know how to hold it. It's called a broom Simon!"

Cowell later admitted he didn't know what he was doing, asking 'How do I do this?' before handing the broom back to the hired help.

You know what's even lower

You know what's even lower than Simon asking Paula to sweep? Owen Williams making up a fake story. Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that Simon wasn't caught, but was making a joke. He was pretending he got caught, and then at the end ask if the cameras were off. He was laughing and saying if the cameras were off then they could sweep the floor, but if they were on he'd do it. It was meant to be funny, yet you make it sound like he was rude and actually caught. Get a life loser!

The simple fact is Simon was

The simple fact is Simon was never caught. He was joking. End of story.
