Amy Winehouse granted U.S. visa after all

February 9 2008

Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse has been granted a visa to enter the United States - and will now be able to perform at Sunday's Grammy Awards - she just isn't going to.

"Following further discussions involving the US Embassy in London and Officials in the United States, Amy Winehouse has been granted a visa to enter the United States of America," the singer's rep said in a statement issued today. "Unfortunately, due to the logistics involved and timing complications, Amy will not be traveling to the US to perform at the Grammys in person."

Instead, the 'Back to Black' star, 24, will perform live from a London studio via satellite.

The rest of the statement reads, "Amy would like to thank all of those people, in particular the staff involved at the US Embassy in London, who have all worked so hard to expedite her application.

"She is very sad not to be attending the Grammys in person but wishes to express her heartfelt gratitude to all of those involved in the process.

"She is looking forward to being a part of the 50th Annual Grammy Awards with her Sunday night performance and to going back to the US soon."
