Renee Zellweger to play George Hamilton's mother

Renée Zellweger Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger is set to star in a movie to play aging actor George Hamilton's mother in a comedy about his childhood.

Renee is said to be "near a deal" to star in 'My One and Only', a comedy based on a childhood adventure of Hamilton's family.

She would play his mother in the 1950s as she drives around America looking for a wealthy man to fund a new life for her and her sons.

The film is based on a true story that Hamilton told Merv Griffin about his early life on the road with his mother and brother.

Hamilton will be the executive producer.
